WELLINGTON CITY HERITAGE WEEK IS SET FOR
23 - 29TH OCTOBER 2017.



Brought to you by Historic Places Wellington, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, and Wellington City Council, Wellington City Heritage Week is a week of community hosted events that provide the public the unique chance to experience Wellington City’s rich social, built, and cultural heritage close-up.

Explore the stories, people, and places that created this vibrant city with tours of St Gerard’s Monastery, mystery drawing tours by Museums Wellington, the exclusive opening of the home of New Zealand cricket at the Basin Reserve and the New Zealand Cricket Museum and more!

The public is encouraged to take advantage of the fantastic property tours, exhibitions, and city walks throughout the week.   Many events are free or a koha entry and there are events for all ages and interests.   Bookings and cost for some events are required.

Wellington City Heritage Week would like to thank all of the community hosts:   Museums Wellington, Government House, Heritage Solutions, New Zealand Cricket Museum, ICPE New Zealand, St Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, The Great War Exhibition, the National Library of New Zealand, Wrights Hill Fortress Restoration Society, Unity Books Wellington, Katherine Mansfield Birthplace Society, Kaori Cemetery Tours, Nga Taonga Sound and Vision, Wellington City Archives and Booklovers Books.

There are some 24 places of historic interest open to the public during Heritage Week which may be of some interest to members.
